The
Phoenix at Clarendon Arlington, VA Keating is working with the United Postal Service on this mixed-use development project located in the Clarendon area of Arlington, Virginia; which is one of the most vibrant in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area Keating is preserving and restoring a portion of the existing historic post office structure and constructing a new 40,000 sq ft postal facility. On the remainder of the site, we are developing 181 residential units, 65,000 sq ft of office space, 20,000 sq ft or retail/commercial space and a 525 car parking garage. Demolition of the site is complete. Construction is underway and scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2007. Marketing of the residential condominium units began at the end of June 2005. As of October 9, 2005, 129 of the 181 residential units are under contract at an average price of $565 per sq ft. Additionally, a jury formed by the Smart Growth Alliance (SGA) recognized this development for its wise land use and efficient design, specifically noting its positive impacts on the Washington area in the categories of land redevelopment, transportation and environmental advantages. |
