When Biomatrix made the decision to plan its first U.S. drug manufacturing facility, they selected Keating Building Corporation as their construction manager.

The overall scope of work called for three different projects including a design/build manufacturing facility, a 35,000 sq.ft R&D Laboratory and Administrative Offices.

The manufacturing facility included biotech manufacturing spaces, conventional and process utilities, clean rooms, raw material and preparation rooms, process and product transfer facilities, QC/QA testing and sampling laboratories, hazardous chemical storage vaults, a microbiology laboratory, warehouse, office and other administrative areas. Biomatrix’s Clinical Research Project housed research, office and administrative support spaces.

Keating’s in-house estimating and procurement team implemented a competitive bid process for each project, attracting high quality regional and North Jersey-based firms who possessed the performance record and knowledge gained on similar pharmaceutical/biotech projects.
