Keating provided construction management services for the renovation of existing space into corporate office and laboratory environments. The total build-out when completed will be approximately 300,000 sq. ft. of newly renovated offices and laboratories.
Keating worked closely with the architect to finalize space programs and sequencing of the work. The project consisted of a complete gut of the entire structure in the areas to be renovated, then refitting the space to its new requirements without impacting adjacent space and personnel occupying the building. Blocks of space from 3,000 sq. ft. to 20,000 sq. ft. at a time were renovated and coordinated with Centocor’s facility and various user groups to minimize adverse impacts. This approach to managing the work enabled Keating’s team to meet all of Centocor’s requirements without missing a move-in date and minimizing the impact to existing operations.
