Financial Field Philadelphia, PA Keating Building Corporation, joined with Turner Construction and the McKissack Group (TKM), to provide construction management services for Philadelphia’s new NFL stadium, Lincoln Financial Field. Construction began in May 2001 and in less than 28 months the stadium hosted its first event. Lincoln Financial Field is a $388 Million concrete and steel structure, with a red brick headhouse at the main entrance. The taut steel I-beams and suspension cables create a bridge-like feeling on the upper deck with views of Philadelphia visible through the stadium’s open corners. It accommodates 69,000 spectators and encompasses approximately 1,600,000 sq ft of floor space. It is one of the most technologically advanced in the league. Some of the features include a 100,000 sq ft centralized area for pre-game and post-game activities with large video screen and Interactive Zone, 172 luxury Suites, two 40,000 sq ft club lounges, 1,000 plasma-screen TVs, Daktronics-HDTV (ProStar) video screens (2@27’ x 96’) and (1@14’ x 25’), power assisted doors, Assistive Listening Devices, a TDD phone, and closed captioning text pagers. Keating played a key role in the success and early completion of this project by implementing a project labor agreement—a special partnership between representatives of TKM and the Philadelphia Area Labor Management Organization (PALM). This ensured labor stability and no work stoppages among the 900+ workers required on site, on any given day. |
