The 1,300,000 sq.ft. Pennsylvania Convention Center represents one of the largest state/city publicly funded capital programs constructed on the East Coast. The project consisted of three major components: the construction of a new Convention Center/Exhibit Hall, the restoration/renovation of the historic Reading Train Shed and the Reading Terminal Market.

The project spans a 27.5 acre site above the Center City Commuter Rail Station and encompasses 12 city blocks in the heart of Philadelphia. Construction details include Exhibit Hall floor spaced on 120' x 120' bays, roof construction of membrane over steel truss and open web steel joist, aluminum/glass curtain wall and skylights. Meeting rooms, ballrooms and other assembly areas are connected to a sophisticated audio/visual system.
