Keating completed Construction Management services for Southern Ocean County Hospital’s full-scale expansion program consisting of a 85,000 sq. ft. comprehensive upgrade of major Outpatient and Support Services and new four-story Medical/Surgical Patient Tower.
The project consisted of 53,952 sq.ft. of new construction providing 102 adult medical/surgical beds and renovation of 31,696 sq.ft. for outpatient, ancillary and support departments. Facility highlights include a new Pre-Admissions testing facility for Same-Day Surgery patients and the addition of CT Scanning, a Mammography suite, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Radiography in a new outpatient Radiology Department. The Hospital’s Emergency Department was expanded to include treatment rooms dedicated to trauma, cardiac and pediatric care, and twelve patient bays for emergency care.
Coupled with the building program was a complete reconfiguration of all entrance roads and surface parking serving the facility. Each phase of the project was completed on or ahead of schedule, and within budget. This expansion project represented the largest undertaking by the Hospital and increased the hospital’s square footage to 127,000 sq.ft.
