The Civic Square II development consists of two new public buildings oriented to create a concentrated district of government offices within New Brunswick’s central business district. Keating provided all development and construction management services.
The first building is the three-story, 113,000-square-foot Public Safety Building and underground 69,000 sq.ft. garage. The second building is a five-story, 116,000 sq. ft. County Administration Building, occupied by Middlesex County. The project covers 2 1/3 acres of prime property in downtown New Brunswick.
This effort represented the first public-private partnership of its kind in the State of New Jersey, combining the interests and resources of Keating, Devco, the County of Middlesex, the City of New Brunswick, and the United States Postal Service.
