Keating Building Corporation provided preconstruction and construction expertise for design and constructability reviews, estimating, value engineering, bidding/procurement, scheduling, construction supervision, safety, quality control, and post-occupancy activities.
The project is a four-story, 90,000 sq.ft. complex situated on a sloping corner site adjacent to the existing Lehigh County Courthouse. Keating’s staff worked directly with the United States Postal Service and General Services Administration representatives throughout the project to coordinate project tasks, as well as oversee design and building activities. Some of the hurdles that needed to be crossed in the planning phase were historic preservation and archaeological issues, the temporary relocation of two war memorials, negotiations with adjacent property owners and condemnation of adjacent property.
