The Universal/Keating development team is providing the New Jersey Department of Education and Schools Construction Corporation with multifaceted, integrated redevelopment expertise that includes program development, design, and construction of the school, boys & girls club, and new green acres park; one that complements the current redevelopment and community initiatives underway in Camden.
The vision for the 95,000 sq ft Catto Demonstration School is to provide a much needed replacement elementary school to serve 540 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth grade.
The school will share its site and many of its features with a new 30,000 sq ft Boys & Girls Club facility that will expand enable the youth of the community to partake of its range of instructional, recreational and career prep offerings.
Another important feature of this vision is a new Green Acres park. This ten acre park is an important neighborhood revitalization that will include both passive and active recreational facilities including tennis courts, ball fields, and play areas.
