Keating Building Corporation was selected by Princeton University to perform Construction Management Services for the new 75,000 s.f. Friend Center for Engineering Education, an addition to the existing Computer Science Building. This addition, designed to support a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary teaching and study, encompasses easily reconfigured high-tech classrooms and computer clusters, a distance-learning room set up for video-conferencing, a spacious convocation hall, a 250-seat auditorium outfitted with the latest in audiovisual technology, and a multi-tiered library.
The new library occupies part of the first floor, as well as the entire second and third floors of the Friend Center. A variety of seating is available in the library and each seat is fully wired with access to both power and data. The library contains 26 public PC’s, with attached printers. Students are able to access the library catalogs, databases, e-journals, electronic books, as well as e-mail and the Internet. The library also includes a document workstation and private group study rooms seating 2 to 8 people
