Universal/Keating, LLC formed a partnership to construct this innovative new 216,000 sq ft neighborhood high school in South Philadelphia. The concept offers a challenging and relevant curriculum that is skill-focused and centered on five self-contained small learning communities, or academies, one for the ninth grade and the other four geared towards career preparation. The intent is to combine the right environment with the right opportunity and, ultimately, instill the confidence and desire needed to achieve.
The school will feature many core facilities—from gymnasium and fitness center to cafeteria/kitchen and media center. All of these core facilities are located on the ground floor with direct connections to the community. In our vision, the school grounds become an extension of the community, bringing more activity to a revitalized neighborhood during the evening and weekend hours.
